New project management platform

Rohde & Schwarz tasked us with the implementation and further development of an in-house project management platform.

Among the project’s specifics was the extensive unit, integration and system testing coverage of the units developed. This would ensure a high degree of software quality as well as high development speed.

The architecture was modelled in accordance with the domain-driven development approach, which made it possible to supplement the system with new integrations and requirements over the years without sacrificing expandability.

During development, special emphasis was placed on performance: A variety of profiling techniques were employed in order to diagnose and optimise critical areas in the frontend, backend and database logics. To do so, we made use of APM tools such as NewRelic.

The Medical Protection Society contracted us to conduct a performance audit of an existing web application. As part of the initial analysis, we were able to deduce the exact causes with the help of several tools and load tests.
The client chose Codesymmetric for additional refactoring work on the application. Once the optimisation was completed, we detected an improvement in response times and throughput of more than 9x.
